Forums - Gaming - Is the Switch Sonys way of getting back into the mobile market?!

I don't think they can make a handheld that can run PS4 games and that has 10 hour battery life just for $200.

Sony can, but the handheld would come with a car battery that you carry around in a backpack, and Sony would lose $400 on every unit.

Then the revision would run on gasoline, and you crank it up like a push lawnmower and fill it up every couple of hours.

Not possible at the moment, mobile hardware will need some additional years to reach PS4 performance at a reasonable battery life. Maybe 2020 this could be possible.

Did you forget that the PS4 uses optical discs?

And good luck making a handheld that is as powerful as the PS4 with a slim and comfortable design and a battery life of 10 hours that doesn't get too hot... and all that for $200.

Isn't that what the Vita attempted and failed at doing? (ignoring the fantasy of ps4-level $200 compact device)

This seems an odd "end around" way of getting around the "no creating switch" threads ban.

Keeping that in mind - what you said is fantasy. PS4 graphics, battery life of 8-10 hours, and all for $200?

It could be a trap, be careful.

There should be creative punishments for opening threads like "Should Sony make PSV2", "Sony enter mobile again now?", "Should Nintendo maek powa console, no gimmiks?"

Hunting Season is done...

My predicition was right (^ω^)

Sony should make a PSP 2 will similar graphics as PS4. All games bought on PS4 can work on PSP 2 and all games on PSP 2 can work on PS4. Sony should make a battery life that lasts 8-10 hours and full Playstation Network functionality. If Sony released it for 200 dollars i think that could do some serious damage to the juggernaut that is the Switch!

Glad a Sony fanboy loves the Switch Idea.

Pocky Lover Boy!

you can't even buy a ps4 for $200 yet good luck getting a portable version for that price.
