The architecture is nothing special this time. It's more or less a standard Tegra which means arm as CPU and something Nvidia for GPU. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets one in two or three years, if there is any interest to do it.

I know there are 3DS and Wii U emulators but they are a long way off. I personaly wouldn't bother with it for at least 5 years, and I can't imagine Switch emulator being good enough in the next 10. Surely having Nintendo insiders like Cemu would help though.
Probably highly dependent on the Switch's gfx API and hardware features the games will use themselves ...

wat
the Wii U was a bitch even for developers to figure out how to use. the way i see it, returning to the single screen format just means it will be easier to optimize once the encryption gets cracked, which shouldnt be hard

The mass emuation that PC players do on Nintendo games, like Dolphin and the Wii U emulator, is piracy. Piracy reminds developers why they don't put a lot of effort on many PC Ports. Thus Dolphin is part of what created Arkham Knight.
The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?
I think emulation for the GC, Wii and Wii U was relatively simple because all those consoles used the same architecture and basically the same Power PC CPU, but now with the Switch, the HW is completely different, I dont think is going to be that easy for homebrew devs. Only time will say but im not hoping to see a big Switch homebrew (emulation) community any time soon.
I suspect March 3rd people will start trying to hack the Switch and once that is done its fairly well known hardware. However for all we know the Switch is using upgraded encryption and protection and will be a greater challenge. If I was a betting man I would say perhaps 2 years from now we will get a working although flawed emulator as possible. Normally you get a sequence of mini-hacks and exploits before you get to the point where an emulator can be written. Alternatively a different approach can be had where someone hacks a particular game to run on different hardware. I.e. they run Zelda on an android device like the Nvidia Shield. A bit like where pc games are hacked to run on x86 mac's, the hardware is practically the same but the operating system is different this allows versions of games to be run without fully emulating but changing for similar hardware and doesn't require very high performance just similar performance. The Switch in hardware terms could be an android device.

Ahahahahaha. Thanks for the good laugh. Next time, research the difference between rom and emulator; and why one is considered legal and the other is illegal.
For every bad port pc gets, pc also gets a hundred ports with mod functionality, the latest dx support, and the most important of all, no sub fee. So thanks for the good laugh again

Now you made laugh dude hahahahahaahah.
And he is right about it not enterily but mostly right.
