If the base model does not sell well, they can put the same hardware in a small TV box for like $150 depending on date, or they can make a smaller dockless joyless model for like $200 with slimmer manufacture process in a couple years. Right?

Errr.... If the original model doesn't succeed I don't see a revision turning it round really. It's easier to create a success then to turn a failure into a success.

The 2DS and New 3DS invigorated the sales of the 3DS.

The Switch has even more potential imo, as they can make it really cheap if they make it like Vita TV. And a handheld only version would also sell very well I imagine.

Sure the 2DS/N3DS boosted the sales of the console, but the 3DS was already a success, there probably is an example of a revision saving a system and making it a success, but price-cuts are really the thing that can turn lackluster sales into a break-out success in my opinion.

My thoughts exactly. They could release the portable as a bundle with Pokémon Gen VIII, that would be sick.

Yes.  Like the way Playstation TV turned the Vita around.

Right?

Yes. Because it totally needs a ridiculously small games whitelist, terrible game selection, a proprietary memory card, removing all useful software.

In case they need to get on track the NS (not likely the thing is selling like hotcakes and the marketing is so good) a price cut... and that's all need to get it on track.

34 years playing games.

Three chances for the Switch to succeed:

1- New Monster Hunter Game
2- New Animal Crossing Game
3- New Pokemon Game

If it doesn´t succeed after these 03 releases, then the market of dedicated gaming devices will be probably over.

Price cut and main series Pokemon should do the trick. A revision will eventually come, but I don't think they will give up the main aspect of Switch: for all effects, it's a hybrid. Microsoft gave up the Kinect, but Nintendo is not like that (2DS aside). They will go with the hybrid thing all the way like with the Wii U second screen. Also, I don't see any scenario where the Switch is not at least a minimum successful.

Switch needs A LOT MORE GAMES, and GAMES THAT ACTUALLY MATTER. I can forgive every other shortcomings if switch can give me games.
