How come the second a character has a son or daughter or pet, you assume they have to die immediately?

We'll play as kratos. Atreus will die on the next game, and Kratos will avenge his death on the third game. Dev's gon repeat this cycle for four times until ppl start calling this franchise as the next CoD/AC.

I think the question is; will it happen at the start, end, or next game(s)? Since it is non-traditional god of war, I do not think I will get it at launch. Will have to see what people say about it..

I think we'll see Kratos live through this game and die at the end of this new trilogy, with his Son taking over. By the 2nd/3rd game we should be able to have short segments where we control the Son a la The Last of Us.

No revenge story.....

Kratos is just out drinking at a local tavern one night, and he starts bragging about how he annihilated the entire Greek pantheon. Thor, who happens to also be getting his drink on, overhears this and jokes that the Greek gods were clearly all pathetic to be wiped out by one such pale little snowflake
