Everything is free if you steal it. What's your point?

And what emulator can add online play to games that didn't have it? Never heard of that...

Kailera, nesbox, and almost every gba-nds emulator have online functionality. The more you know

We're talking about NES or SNES games, games that never had online functionality.

I don't like it

Really annoy how you have to constantly pay money for the full version of a game. If I pay money to own a game, I would like to be able to play it without constantly having to pay additional :/

Unlike GGPO, a technology and program allowing emulated games to be played over the Internet, Kaillera suffers from input lag which results in the player's actions being delayed more the higher the delay in a connection is.[1] This is accentuated by the fact that when not using the Kaillera P2P modification, two players have to be connected through a server, thus increasing the delay of the connection.[2][3]

So not only is it stealing, the thieves are asking money for it or it's unplayable, lol.

Unfortunately yes its great for the industry. Its like buying a membership for your favorite sports team its the life blood of the company/brand. However forcing MP on gamers is the biggest rip-off iv seen. You buy a game yout expected to be able have access to the options for your purchase.

Yes, emulation is stealing. Unless you think most people using them actually buy the games. And if you think that you're incredibly naive. But hey, go ahead and steal some games. Great argument you got there. Why pay if I can play it for free on PC!

So with your logic, you could say playing on pc is the same as stealing, because there's a way to pirate games. There's a legit way to emulate older console without breaking the law. That requires you to copy bios files and game cartridge file from your own console. Whatev, like i said, at this point nothing can convince you anymore.

And how many people do it the legit way you think?

The thread title made me think it was going to be about gaming becoming a service you continually pay for (ie: season pass, post season pass DLC, games broken up into pay as you go chapters, etc). My response to that was going to be: good for the industry, bad for the consumer.

But it's actually about PS+, Live, and whatever the heck Ninty's paid online will be called. And yeah, if all you care about is online play for your AAA titles, it sucks. Personally speaking, I subbed to PS+ during 7th gen for everything but online, and still do to this day. It's nice having a huge spread of smaller digital titles in the library for when I want them. But I'm an exception to the vocal online community I suppose. At least you don't have to deal with the 'paywall' to play F2P or MMOs, that'd be extra shitty.
