I assume when ZhugeEX said PlayStation Network he meant the whole gaming division. i.e. hardware, software and online?

No, network only.

Thanks, I see from the quarter this is how much revenue each part made

Sony Hardware revenue $2.47 Billion

Sony Network revenue $1.87 Billion

Sony Other revenue $$0.91 Billion

Nintendo Revenue $1.5 Billion

Yes so apparently Network did make more money than the whole of Nintendo

U mad? The point it they been selling off divisions left and right since 2012 and cut 18000+ jobs. I said Sony is getting CLOSER and CLOSER to a console company AT THIS RATE. Also 2 of the divisions listed is up for sale. So get mad if you want but Sony every year has been massively downsizing.

Sony says it won't sell movie biz

Those were unconfirmed rumours. None of Sony's divisions are currently up for sale. Stop spreading false information.

They still cut over 18000 jobs since 2012 have sold of divisions.

Too bad their profits are lower than Nintendo's.

Not their gaming division's.

Nintendo's $569 million in profit versus Sony's $174 million in profit. Movie business hurting Sony.

By the way:

Why the difference between Microsoft and Sony? Gaming Revenue vs. Game & Network Services respectively?

Someone here with a Twitter account able to ask him?

Wow, i really thought Nintendo had suffered with the decline of the wii u but even with that, they had three times sony's profit?! That's pretty incredible. Given ps4 success,  that's surely due to ps4 pro and psvr flopping so badly?

Nintendo had to sell a sports team to make that much profit.

Still doesn't explain how you came to the conclusion that all the other profitable divisions will be closed or sold off.

If you think Sony was made up of only those 3 business units, then sure, Sony is seemingly becoming a console only company.

But if you actually knew what you were talking about, you'd know they have a bunch of other divisions.

Was it that hard? Like, you at least knew Sony Music or their home entertainment products right?

'No chance' Sony will sell movie studio despite losses, executive says

Why you so defensive mang, all I did was educate you on the facts and you act all hurt and annoyed.

Btw your rap video has been nominated for the cringe of the year awards, and it's only february.

None of the big three are struggle-free.

I'm not sure what this has to do with the discussion, but yeah (depending on what you mean by "struggle").

What point were you trying to make to begin with?

The difference is because each company names their divisions and departments differently. Sony calls Playstation, Game & Network Services. That's all it is. The chart above shows how much each company brought in via their gaming offerings.

I see... Thanks.

In addition to see, it's clearly said that the the movie division's loss is a one-off thing. And yet he's harping on about them going towards being a gaming-only company.

Good. That was the point. Everyone else but this forum knew it was a joke and meant to be the worst thing ever. It's supposed to be a cringe. Mission Accomplished. Is that your last minute attempt to make me feel bad by telling me the goal I set out was accomplished?

Most articles I've read concerning Nintendo's profit in Q3 attribute it to Pokemon. No mention of Seattle Mariners's sale which occurred in 2016 Q2 I think.
