Forums - Nintendo - Switch Production to be Increased due to Good Pre-order Status.

Doesn't tell us much because we had no forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2018. For example, the numbers Nintendo had originally in mind could have been 8m LTD by March 2018 and have now been bumped to 10m. We don't know which numbers Nintendo had planned with, so that leaves the possibility that the original expectations were tame, which in turn makes an increase in production a lot less impressive.

Do you have to go into every Nintendo thread and spoil the fun for everyone? If you weren't a mod you would've been long banned by now.

But I have no choice!

There are already people who fantasize about the production increase being visible at launch, completely ignoring that the logistics for production take a few months until an increase materializes on store shelves.

Yes but it's a good indicator of demand for the NS, it doesn't matter the point of view these are good news.

And what else is new?

Well, based on the foxconn leak and the numbers provided by the company that make the Switch screens they were going to produce about 10m by the end of this year, if I remember correctly. 3m of those screens are supposed to come in an initial batch.

That would mean they are producing at a rate of about 830k Switches every month. Assuming they started mass production in october like the foxconn leak said they would have produced around 3.3 million by now, with feburary left to push launch stock just over 4m.

Obviously we don't quite know what this uptick in production means, but taking your 2m that would put them over 11.6 m units produced this year, for example.

Hopefully this means more people get the chance to pre-order before launch.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Sweet, that was what I was hoping to hear. Hopefully the Switch doesn't turn into another Wii situation.
