I do not think that either of the three "winning" is something to be defined by comparison to each other. Sony very obviously sold the most. However, they perhaps did not see the growth they were hoping for, and could see that as defeat. Nintendo planned the WiiU to die this year, success in mobile and a surprising resurgence in the Pokemon brand could be seen as very promising.

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

Lol at the poll results, how can anybody objectively say that Nintendo was anything other than 3rd place? Wii U had basically no new releases, no price cut, and barely any sales. The $100 3DS model and NES Mini had barely any stock and were all bought up by scalpers. The only highlight of the Holiday season for Nintendo fans was Pokemon Sun and Moon.

For sure.  Nintendo had nothing except Pokémon going on.  And, yeah, thas big.  But, that one game doesn't make up for their ridiculous shortages of all hardware, and lack of any other big games.

If I had 100 points to distribute, I'd give 50 to Sony, 35 to MS, and 15 to Nintendo.

Good point.  If we're talking relative to expectations then the whole picture changes.

How did Nintendo win with software?

I think sony won both in terms of software sales and hardware ones.... so sony.

Looking at Nintendo's Q3 results, it's Sony on all fronts.

In terms of sales. Sony>MS>Nintendo obviously. Just look at the Weekly HW and SW charts. They all have PS4 in the first place, XBO in second and 3DS third. 3DS had one great week when Pokemon S/M launched though.
