People are saying scorpio is not 9th gen because it is not powerful enough, these same people are saying switch IS 9th gen.

Facts

Switch is in between xbox 360 and xbox one in power

Xbox scorpio is 50% more power than ps4 pro

Xbox scorpio will have exclusive vr titles as well as exclusive third party titles.

Switch will have some first party exclusives even zelda is coming for the wii u

Just because scorpio is baclwards compatible with xbox one and xbox 360 doesnt make it an 8th gen. Some people are just crazy!

If you add the power from ps4 pro and nintendo switch it still isnt as powerful as the scorpio!

Did MS themselves say Scorpio is 9th gen? And no, I don't mean the Ori dev cause he is an employee of MS, not the head of the xbox division.

My opinion: If this whole generational thing even applies anymore, they are both most definitely 8.5th gen. And this is under the assumption that the Scorpio will not be marketed as an actual next generation console. If it is, I'd be happy to call both 9th gen.

Generations have nothing to do with power or release order, and everything to do with competition. You can't call the Switch 9th gen if it's going to be primarily competing with what are essentially just 8th gen consoles. Unless, the Scorpio is an actual 9th gen system.
