Forums - Sony - Will There Be A PS4 Pro Slim This Christmas?

I don't think so. Save that for next year.

I think they should just slash the price massively in early November, go with the Pro at $299 and the Slim at $199. And on Black Friday, throw in Red Dead 2 and Gran Turismo or something. They have made decent profit on the original and Slim from almost day 1, even if they have to lose a bit of money at each sale, it's only one country, and they will be back in profit with a PS Plus subscription or a couple of games.

As it stands, even if they dropped the price of the PS4pro to $300 and the slim to $200... i think they will still be making a profit on them.

Here are te things that have gotten cheaper since the originals $400 price point. BR drive, Ram, HDD. So the PS4 pro, using the same amount of ram and the same BR drive probably costs less to make than the original PS4 cost back in 2013.

Even if dropping the Pro to $299 (which may mean they lose something on every pro sold) the amount they stand to make from the sale of every PS4 at $200 will make up for whatever they lose on the Pro. Basically one sold PS4 could make up the difference on whatever is lost on every sold PS4pro.

Around the Network

Just drop the Price 50$ then when Black Friday and Cyber Monday (i think that's called) come, drop it even more and there you have it bundle the console with Horizon zero Dawn ( if the game get's great reviews) and there you have it.

If they want to really go out be really competitive release god of war in that time frame bundle it and that's it.

I'm starting to notice a trend with your threads OP..
but just to clarify the Power list for you from most powerful to weakest:

Xbox Scorpio (Rumour)
PS4 Pro
PS4 Slim
Xbox One S
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Wii U

So when you say the PS4 will be the weakest you mean....

also beare in mind the Scorpio sons get exclusive games.. they have to run on the weakest of the machines from Sony and MS..

2018 Hit List: Shadow of the Colossus, Detroit, Dreams, Spider-Man, God Of War, Days Gone, Medievil, Tomb Raider 3, RDR2

No... there won't be a new PS4 model this year.

They'll simply offer some deals on the Pro this holiday, probably $350 with a game or two.

$850 for a 4k HDR TV & Pro Bundle could be a pretty enticing deal...

Nope, they don't even know how to produce more than 2 PS4 Pro a month so I don't see why they would already start on a new model.
