There was no lv 50 gyrados in this episode. My only point is Ash has had this thing for a long time, for it to be beat by amateur pokemon is just a forced plot point. Can't say that this is a bad idea though.

I get your point and I agree with you, but Pikachu is a weak Pokemon that would get downed by its own resistance type. Its not entirely ridiculous that Pikachu still loses (yes it is). Its not as bad as been owned by a buizel though (yes it is)

Oh, okay now I get it. That does suck! Pokemon stadium balancing must suck then.
