and all I have to say is thank God.

Lets get this straight: this isn't a bash on the PS3, it's a bash on the piece of crap SIXAXIS.

That thing just feels like a light plastic toy with motion controls that almost no games actually use in a good way or at least in a way that isn't better done by analog controls. Too bad it only took them a year and a half to realize that rumble isn't last gen and while the console is a toy, the controller shouldn't feel like a McDonald's toy.

-edit-

And since when did MTV start getting all these game news stories? They've already ruined music I don't want them to ruin games too.

Actually DS3 was annonced at TGS between the 20th and the 23rd of September 2007, so it only took them 10 months to notice. It took them a year and a half to release it in North America though.

Actually, it took them much longer than that, ever since the decided to go with the sixaxis in R&D for the PS3...

Lame...

I like the controller the way it is.

Sony is doing better and better. I never liked these controllers really, Im really cautious not to break my left analog stick when running in COD4 lol :P.

Its not the falut of the sixaxis, the new controllers will break too when playing CoD4, even the 360 controllers break when playing that game.  The analog sticks are not meant to be used all the time the way CoD4 uses them.

Heh, which is the situation I'm in now. I'm sure God of War 1 and 2 didn't help, but I've noticed that while I've had Call of Duty 4 from Gamefly, my left analog stick is off center now and can sometimes be slightly in the up position which would cause me to creep forward ever so slightly in Call of Duty 4 every once in a while.

I guess the good news is that unless I get it for the PC, I've gotten my fix of it on the PS3 so I'm not really that eager to rent it again anytime soon.

The DS3 lists for $55 MSRP, making the Sixaxis $5 cheaper. I imagine the price of the DS3 will drop to $50 once Sixaxis inventory has been cleared.

The whole issue with the Sixaxis is very subjective and was blown way out of proportion, but hey; that's why vibration is back by popular demand. Maybe people will finally stop complaining about the initial omission, but... not likely.

The Sixaxis currently goes for $44 on Amazon. Pretty safe to say the price won't go up after the DS3 is available, but I doubt there will be any fire sales in the immediate future. No rush to buy one now anyway.

Am I the only person that liked the light weight of the Sixaxis?

I liked it, but I'm definitely going to get a couple of DS3 controllers. I only have 2 Sixaxis controllers, and they both came with my PS3, so I would like a couple more.

Doesn't the Dualshock 3 still have Sixaxis control? They're not getting rid of Sixaxis, just the rumbleless controller. This one has rumble with sixaxis.

About time. At least Sony aren't to ignorant to know people like last gen features.
