After 2016 I've decided to never trust a poll ever again

Why? The election? Those polls were accurate.

Zelda over Mario and Splatoon? I thought Japan didn't like Zelda.

We should thank our Japanese friends for agreeing to subsidise our online costs by paying extra on our behalf.

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Why are people still bitching about online, we don't even know how it'll perform. If it's a damn good service, then yeah I'd pay for it, like anything else. If it sucks, cast your vote and don't pay.

Im a little surprised by these polls.
Doesnt seem like the japanese are all crazy happy about the switch as it is.
I was expecting a more positive reception than this.

"There are also some reports that Hachima is a pretty anti-Nintendo in general, so please take these results with a grain of salt."

Explains why they're so happy about online. 1,2 Switch isn't on anybody's most wanted list even though it's the second most pre-ordered game after Zelda.

Q: At this current point in time, what title(s) are you looking forward to? (multiple responses allowed)
1. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 49.07% 1,496 votes

Yeah, this definitely doesn't reflect the general consensus in Japan.

I feel as though the last poll option describes how revelatory this poll actually is.

That majority being for paid online is suuuuper interesting, just like everyone else is saying, yeah. Maybe the Japanese think that it won't cost a lot or they see a significant tip in value in investing in a good service with cost, as opposed to a mediocre one that's free. I wish we had more information behind that one.

Some interesting numbers.

78% will not/don't plan on/will buy later.

62%
consider the price a little/very high.

3,51% believe it will be extremely popular.

62,3% are for the online service being paid.

or

66% plan to get one or don't rule-out getting one.

81% don't think the price is really high.

55% think it will sell well or be extremely popular. (ignore "it won't sell at all (ridiculous)" and "i can't say").
