Forums - Politics - So what happened to all of Trumps Day 1 promises?

We know how Trump is by now. He runs his mouth and promises things that aren't going to happen, simply because they sound good at the time. He's the very definition of a blowhard.

Whatever, though. Now that he's President, let's just wait and see how it works out. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt even if I have to shift through all his hyperbole and chest-thumping first. He might not be able to deliver on his promises to the letter but if he's trying then I'm just going to shrug away the minor faults.

Of course, if he makes a royal mess of things, that's another story, but I don't intend to nit-pick unless it reaches that point.

This wouldn't be such a big deal if he still wasn't blasting hyerpbole and chest thumping. You sifting through hyperbole will be like trying to swim up a waterfall. He was at a congressional dinner and was still claiming that 3-5 million votes were cast by illegal aliens. This just happened tonight.

Yeah, he behaves like a child sometimes but nothing is going to change that.  I don't even care that much, to be honest, just like I didn't care how many interns Bill Clinton bopped.  I'm going to judge him by what he actually does as President, which I assume is going to be heavily filtered by his staff and Congress.

No real need to stress because he says something stupid on twitter when I can just think of it as entertainment instead.

But this isn't a tweet. Its a dinner with the bipartisan congress. Republicans and Democrats watched him rant about how 3-5 million illigal immigrants voted for Hillary. What he has done since friday has been what he does as President. He hasn't changed.

I would imagine Obama taking a dump on the Whitehouse before he left means it's going to take a little longer to clean up the stink.

The PS5 Exists.

They weren't promises.

Trump doesn't make promises. He proposes "alternate futures."

The next four years is one continual punch-line.

I haven't seen a president yet that doesn't lie or was able to keep all campaign promises, not a single one. They are all liars, nothing new.

I would say a hell of as lot happened his first day in office. Plus he had to deal with all the hate marches.

If he happened to get impeached.....Does everyone voting asagainst him like his vp?

Actually he is far worse. Even among republicans he is considered a religious zealot. If Pence is in charge of SCOTUS picks we will probably get blasted back to the 1940s.

It's like a country walking backwards. Pretty funny.

Buncha, can you link me to the thread you made about Obama's campaign promises that were never kept ... I'm sure you made one right?

Barack Obama made an extraordinary array of campaign promises -- 508 pledges on everything from taxing the rich to ending the Iraq war. This was the 2012 cycle ... according to PolitiFact he kept 37% ...

Obama is in the past. Time to move forward.

Lol, nice cop out.

I have to ask: "What Syrian Refugee Program?" Honestly I think Saudi Arabia would have more Syrian refugees then USA but I don't know. Hell more Xbox one sell a week in Japan then there are Syrian refugees admitted in a year in USA
