Wii-U was the main platform, they should release it there as well. Especially as the majority of backers are former Nintendo fans that wanted the game on Wii-U. Cancelling the Wii-U version is betrayal of their backers.

The Wii U couldn't run the game, too many technical issues what else could they have done?

I could accept Project Cars didn't run on wii u but this game actually looks a good fit for its abilities and perhaps it was mere coincidence that the wii u became an obsolete format before release.

They already said Wii U backers (I'm one of them) could get a refund or move to another console.

Hopefully the Switch version releases in April or I will have to get the game elsewhere.

I agree with you. This is definitely not just a specs issue.

Nintendo probably told them they were gonna kill the thing and to move the version on to Switch.

If Wii U can run Breath of the Wild, how in hell couldn't it run YL?

Well power isn't always the only isssue, I dont know what the issue was. Maybe the 2gb ram of the Wii U was to small? For PC it's minium spec requirements state 8gb of ram. Obviously consoles are much better optimised than PC's which is why games can run on the PS4 with only 5gb of ram available for games but the 1gb the Wii U has available for games probalby just wasn't enough.

Wii U was the base version of Yooka Laylee, the specs issue seems shaky to me at best.

PC was the base version of Yooka, and the issues could stem from the Unity Engine, which has been known to have issues on Wii U. I'm sure it's not impossible to get it running, but Playtonic is a really small team compared to the 100+ person team Zelda had.

I just wanna know if the Switch version will be out the same day as the other versions. If not, I'm gonna go with PS4.

Yep and no refund, its à shame

You can get a refund. You just have to email them.

I'm gonna say it's highly unlikely.
