I remember Mario Kart 64 had heaps of short cuts in the game where you could complete a lap in seconds. There was a short cut on every track in Mario Kart 64.

The Goldeneye 007 cheats could be earned by completing the required levels and under the time legitimately to unlock or you could press a number of buttons and you get the cheats unlocked.

Every game has cheats in it because they are put in for developers,programmers to test game without having to beat it. 

Donkey Kong Country (SNES) infinite lives glitch. Using Diddy Kong you only had to fall onto the top of a Klumps head and hold back and your lives would increase up to the maximum of 100 lives.
Bonus Level at start. Press: Down, Y, Down, Down, Y on start screen.
50 Lives to start game. Press: B,A,R,R,A,L.

I have not found any but then again I don't go looking.
