Forums - Gaming - Your primary console is either Wii or PS3.....

Well you can call me an achievement whore, because I will admit the achievements that Microsoft implemented this generation is awesome. For me it extends the gameplay experience and I can go back to the game and try to get that achievement...lol

I'm awaiting what Sony might do with this PS Home feature titled "Trophies". I don't want to beat to many games and I know this feature is about to come. So meanwhile the Xbox 360 is my primary and the PS3/PSP/DS gets little use of my time.

The Wii well I don't have one yet, but I can rest assured that I will be playing that console a lot once I buy one.

If you play crap easy games to get achievements, it doesnt make you look good as a gamer. If I see someone with say 1000 points on PGR3 or GH2 etc, then I know he is awesome gamer. Achievements arent abut how many you get. Alot of people mistaken that. Achievement whores are different to good players.

I know a couple of easy ones, and not all of them are bad games either:

-DW: Gundam;
-Marvel Ultimate Alliance;
-Assassin's Creed (you can get over 800 points by just finishing the game, not getting the flags);
-Aegis Wing (Arcade);
-DOOM (Arcade).

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

Wii is my primary console. The only games I even play on my roommate's 360 is halo, GH3 and Mass Effect. We never even turn on the PS3.

I really couldn´t care less how many poits I´ve gotten... but sometimes its nice when they pop up and you realize you just did something cool... like the 5 perfect reloads in a row in Gears... I wasn´t even trying but it was cool to know I was getting better at it :)

Wii and PC are the platforms I play the most. PS3 comes next. I want an Xbox 360, but it costs money (it does!) and I'm scared of RRoD. Besides, I have way too much to play that I don't play anyway.

I could care less what my total Achievement score is. The number doesn't mean anything more than the amount of time you've spent playing games.

I do find pride in achievement scores for individual games, or even in hard to obtain achievements. I like people seeing that I have a high score or even a perfect 1000 on hard games, or seeing that I've completed those really hard to get individual achievements.

I own PS3/360 and absolutely hate achievements and what they stand for. I really can't see why anyone would care what their score is.

While I will often try and get achievements in a game I buy I would NEVER EVER buy/rent a game purely for achievements. That just seems like a waste.

Personally though I always look at % completion not score to see how good someone is at games. For example a friend of mine has a gamerscore of around 30.5k compared to my 14.35K. However my score is out of a possible 17450. Whereas his is out of 52405. I mean anyone can have a high gamerscore, just play a huge amount of games. Having a high % is really difficult. There are some games where I will never ever make 100% like DoA4. And funnily you mention Kameo as an easy achievement game. You can get 600 incredibly easily, 650 easy, 700easy, 1000 insanely tough.

I mean if someone has 1000 in TMNT and another person has 800 in DoA4 then I know who the better gamer is.

I do really love achievements though. The fact I can just look at someones profile and get a good idea of what type of gamer they are is great. A lot of games but low scores in them? Probably a hardcore gamer who either isn't very good or gets bored quickly. Few games with low scores, a casual gamer. High scores in lots of shooters, good twitch player etc etc. 1000/1000 in DoA:XBV2? Probably has a sore wrist.

Turkish says and I'm allowed to quote that: Uncharted 3 and God Of War 3 look better than Unreal Engine 4 games will or the tech demo does. Also the Naughty Dog PS3 ENGINE PLAYS better than the UE4 ENGINE.

Or what they stand for? Mind explaining a bit more? I find that they give me more value out of a game. I am very goal oriented. I love trying to meet all the challenges given forth in a game by each achievement. Some games the achievements are pretty useless and not much effort is put into them though, that is true. But I love trying to get "two for one" or "Steppin Razor" or such on Halo 3. They can be tough to get, and it's a nice sense of accomplishment to have obtained them. Again, the score overall I don't care about, it depends on the individual game.
