Some (hardcore) fans think like as this is the main selling point of the latest games. For me, what drew me in was it's accessibility, which was someone that held a pretty good amount of people back from even trying this series. The fan service was there but it wasn't prominent to me. I mainly got into the story, characters, and gameplay.
