The phone can. The app use the headset because it's used for the "Switch chat", but shouldn't have anything to say about the headset you're using, it's managed by your phone anyway.

But they can announce that as a great news and a nice move from them, so...

Well, unless you have a iphone you can plug your wired headset into your headphone jack on the phone.

The irony here is that WiiU only had wired headset options. And the gamepad was the only controller with an audio plug.

Nintendo seems to have some aversion to pro controllers with an audio plug - but perfectly fine to have it on a tablet controller/device of some kind.

Yeah, I watched this interview. I didn't know Jared prior to the Switch Presentation, but I've watched some of his recent videos and I must say I actually like the guy. And Reggie was pretty cool in this interview. He didn't come off as arrogant or anything he's been accused of recently. He was fun and charming and gave a solid interview.

I freaking love Projared, he's so classy...when he wants to be. XD I kinda wish he'd asked for something other than Monster Hunter though, we already know that's happening. But reggie was really ballsy to ask that question in the first place though. I wonder what Nintendo has cooking for the Switch.

I'd def recommend people to watch it, as it's an unusually great interview xD The switch idea was definitely great, and reggie's question about the worst thing Jared has said about Nintendo was really great.
