Not a toys to life fan at all, but this is a pretty cool and nifty feature on the Switch. Appearently you don't need to base to scan as the NFC is built in to switch controllers and there is no bundle/accessories included for the Switch. You can also save the characters you scan into a digital library, so that you don't need to keep bringing them out.

Is that feature also on the other consoles?

Hmmm, I'm not sure, though I know the "not needing a base to scan" isn't.

Its definetly a good feature since the switch can be played in portable mode. Sucks that Skylanders are closing on its death. 

I wish you could do this for amiibos! It will definetly be more convenient. 

Edit: by that I mean how you dont need the physical amiibos to use it. 

Got to keep the Amiibo functionality somehow :p
