We polled more than 4,500 attendees of the Game Developers Conference to shed light on the industry leading up to GDC 2016 and VRDC@GDC in San Francisco.

Significant trends revealed by the survey results include:

  • Optimism for the Nintendo Switch
  • Uncertainty about console updates like PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox's "Project Scorpio"
  • HTC Vive's ascendancy to become the most popular VR/AR platform for devs

Switch developer support looks a bit above Wii U but, still low.  2% on Wii U means not much, 3% seems to be the range of past gen Xbox 360.

I dont see how that poll is accurate, it shows that Wii U has more support than 3DS.

Well I`d assume the majority at GDC are western devs and considering most of the 3DS` support comes from Japan it may well be accurate.

So in other words the poll means nothing since it omits the region that is likely to give Switch the greatest support.

This is a poll of professionals attending GDC so it should be accurate, but Japanese developers are likely under represented at this conference.
