Totally just read that as Exile Erection

Also... they makes games other than Danganronpa? :O

They don't make DanganRonpa. Spike-Chunsoft do.

This premise is a blatant rip-off of DR though.

Didn`t the last one release pretty recently (and flop)?

"Under-performed" would be a better way to put it.

They seem to be content making money from re-releasing Disgaea games on PC for the time being. Switch will probably get a Disgaea 5 port.

It's been a genre for a while tho.

I expect it to be mediocre either way, but hopefully I'll be wrong.

"Kill the people you're trapped with by voting for them" is pretty exclusive to DanganRonpa. There have been similar games, sure, but nothing that's such a blatant copy.

Idol Death Game TV was released last october.

I reviewed Lost Dimension in 2014, another mediocre game featuring the exact same vote to kill in a dungeon rpg setting with tactical-rpg gameplay.

Overall games, anime and mangas inspired by the "Mafia" traditional game are pretty common, Danganronpa's only originality on that front is making the voting system a gameplay element first.

Both Lost Dimension & Idol Death Game TV released after DanganRonpa; both were clearly heavily inspired by it.

I'm sure those mechanics did exist before then, I'm not really arguing that. DanganRonpa is the game that brought them more into the mainstream thanks to its success. Hence the increase in clones we're seeing lately (especially on Vita).

More info added to OP.

Wow I thought every Japanese developer was making games for the Switch

Oh.... I thought with that title this was the Danganronpa devs finally doing something else. Shows how little I pay attention

Didnt they do the Zeo Escape series too?? I assume they are done with that one now and with Danganronpa 3 releasing soon it wouldnt surprise me if they try something new next.
