Honestly Quantic Dreams stories are amazing but gameplay in Beyond was a downgrade from Heavy Rain. Really disappointed with the god awful gameplay in Beyond but the story saved it. Hopefully with Detroit they learn their lesson and give us something to actually play.

I really don't mind the gameplay cause well, it's an adventure game a console "point and click" game, but heavy rain was good and a novelty the first time, the second playthrough I was like well "this is dumb" and beyond's story was not bad but neither something shocking for me. While until dawn is super entertaining even if the story is not oscar worthy, and then we have 10/10 stories like life is strange, walking dead, wolf among us and tales of the borderland. So quantic dreams need to catch up with the narrative. Hopefully their new project is a real progression of the narrative and story aspect.

i have yet to play Beyond Two Souls (i do actually have it, bought it like a month ago for 11 bucks, but didnt get to it yet). but from their E3 presentation Detroit seems to have some rather different aspects from Heavy Rain. there seems to be alot more focus on decisions then quick time events, and a single scene/set can be slower, but has more branching paths.
From what we saw at E3 the hostage situation seems to have many different outcomes and possibilities. for example, you can search the scene, IF you find a gun you can either report it or take it. if you take it you can shot the kidnapper, threaten him or be honest with him that you have a gun and disarm yourself if you admit to having it. those kind of choices just werent there in Heavy Rain. there seems to be much more complexity in the decision making, something that i am truly looking forward to. i hope the game turns out the way to be how the E3 trailer made it seem. and i hope it exapnds to most of the game or all of it, not just for this hostage situation.
