Forums - Gaming - Resident Evil VII is 60% cheaper on Steam than on PSN, in Brazil.

Tagged games:

CAD 79.99 on Steam, PSN and in stores here. Physical used to be a bit cheaper overall and PSN a bit less than Steam, seems it's all equalized now. Except the deluxe edition is 119.98 on Steam, 114.99 on PSN.

Hmm it's only a 10.7 MB game according to PSN, Amazing compression techniques!

Anyway this is your chance to become a key seller! Buy and gift for a fee.

Yep. Console games get physical slashes that rival the prices the PC market sees. Digitally though, consoles have a long long way to go.

DIgital marketplaces will never really compete with key sellers. I do think that XBL and PSN easily rival what Valve offers, but the other places aren't a fair comparison imo.

That's odd, because I've been looking at the Steam store for some games and the digital prices are still fof compared to the Sony and MS digital prices. I find it odd again as to why we aren't allowed to toss in the other forms of competition on PC, which naturally give that base differing prices. it's almost like it would be some form of advantage for them, I don't see why it cannot be included as console games are sold physically in multiple stores that do their own deals (which PC physical titles lack in number as you'd know).

What the actual fuck is wrong with this price difference? Steam has such a great price for REVII.
Crude conversion would put the game at BRL 192, but it's at just BRL 100 (USD 31.25) on steam pre-order here, steam is basically giving it a 50% cut from the get go... while it's BRL 250 on PSN (USD 78.15).

It makes me want to hold on buying it for the PS4, even if that means I won't be playing it right now (as I won't buy it on PC).

Really nice deal for PC gamers over here.

On nuuvem website you can purchase the steam key for around BRL 76 (USD 23.77)

I only judge the quality of the sales. Winter sale this year for Steam was really no better than the sales available on PSN/XBL's weekly and flash sales.

As far as why I don't think key sellers aren't a fair comparison to a proper marketplace is that there are inherently different. It's like comparing buying a product from Amazon vs third party sellers.

But the sales aren't 50/50 split either though.

Wanting to ignore the advantages that PC has with different vendors would also open up the doors to just ingoring any other advantages PC has, it's not a pick and choose what it's allowed to do and not do.

So you finally noticed what PC players have been saying for years?

Ignore the steam sales that are ridiculous deals, most games release, even on day 1, $10 cheaper on PC than on console.

Capcom is one of the few publishers making good use of regional price.

Bethesda is the worse, using just a direct conversion and ending up being more expensive than retail.

Yes, I'm pretty happy with the BRL 250 (USD 78) they are charging for the game on PSN.

Man with prices like that I would quit gaming xD

At least games follow a MSRP (that somehow hasn't risen with inflation). Chrono Trigger was $100 back in the day.
