Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Switch Pascal Rumor: (Maximum PC) January issue

Found this link

https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/5m6r1p/i_was_reading_januarys_issue_of_maximum_pc_and_i/

In the reddit, where it seemingly confirms that the Switch is using pascal instead of maxwell, not too sure on how reliable the magazine is, but I figured this is a nice little thing to check out.

(btw first thread I've made here, so I apologize if I didn't do something correct)

Interesting but again, just another rumor.

Just show me the games.

Yup, like LKD said, never trust any rumor 100 percent, no matter how convincing it is.

I don't currently think the two architectures are too different so it would make little difference either way what architecture is in the Switch.

Its odd cause even the shield that Nvidia announced has the old Tegra X1. Idk anymore, its all weird cause I can't believe Nvidia didn't put Pascal on their new shield.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

The ball just keeps getting hit back and forth. I can't wait until the 12th, I mean I really can't wait.

Really doesn't matter if the clocks will still hold since the Switch will have the same theoreticals regardless if it's Maxwell or Pascal based ... (both feature the same ISA so hardly any bonus there when doing shader optimizations)

It'll get a few more features here and there with Pascal instead of Maxwell ...

I don't think Nintendo is going into the specs of the Switch so temper your expectations.

Im interested more in the process (20 nm, or 16?), the number of CUDA cores(256 or 384?) and the memory bandwidth(25 or 50Gb/s?)

 Yeah, I don't expect specs but I do expect to see games, and telling from what games are shown we should be able to draw a conclusion if it is maxwell or pascal. But who knows, Kimishima is a business man also, so maybe he'll talk more about specs and get down to what matters in the Switch.
