Forums - Gaming - Sony's PS4 Pro Sales Silence is an Ominous Sign for Scorpio?

Is it just me, or is it that no one realizes that the PS4pro and in turn the Scorpio are just the same consoles released 3yrs ago but this time with enough power to give higher resolutions?

Like...... That's it. Why are we talking about these things like they are new generation consoles?

And that thing about hit streak..... Having a hit streak in ONE territory and being outsold at least 3:1 in every other territory isn't something to scoff at.

Yes, but Scorpio will have VR exclusives because XB1 just isn't powerful enough for VR. MS has also suggested that Scorpio will replace XB1 in a few years, meaning there will eventually be non VR games that will play on Scorpio but not on XB1, whereas it sounds like PS4 Pro will never replace PS4, both of them instead being replaced by PS5 eventually.

This is wrong in several ways imo.

First of all, the Play Station Four is also not powerfull enough for VR based on what is required on the PC side but Sony developped their own (less requiring and poerformant) VR (and I'm not blasting it, I think Play Station VR is just great and would love to see something similar on the Xbox One even if not as good as Oculus or HTC). So nothing is preventing Microsoft to do the same and I'm actually curious about those headsets coming for 200$ this year and see what will be the requirments.

Second, you assume that VR will play a huge part. Where do you get that?

And finally, where did you get that about the Scorpio replacing the Xbox One? I never saw anything like that. Quite the opposite actually from Microsoft

When very weak cellphones using a cardboard headset can make VR, there is no limitation as to prevent MS if willing to have a VR that works with X1 og or X1S. I just don't know if they are willing, but if PSVR had catched fire then MS would be looking deeper at making their attempt or paying a dev already with prototypes to make a capable version for X1
