Forums - Gaming - Your Gaming 2017 Predictions

Other games will be rated well and sell decently.

Next years Forza will be announced and blpw everyone away showing the power of Scorpio. Scorpio will launch at $450 and be $400 and selling well. Halo 6 will be announced. This year will be the peak year of XB1

Sony

PS4 sales stay stable. 2 nee big IPs get announced. Spiderman game sells very good. PSVR gets its first major system seller. PS4 Pro goes down to $350 and sales start to pick up a lot. Horizon isnt as good as oyhers expected but still sells well.

Nintendo

Switch blows up in Japan as a huge hit. Sells good WW better than 3DS and Wii U but not Wii. Nintendo tries hard to push third party games and makes amends with Ubisoft. Pokemon comes to Switch Nov 2017 switch outsells PS4 and XB1 that holiday in the US.

My prediction is that Zelda is still coming for Wii U

A bit weird how this needs to be a prediction now

The Master of predictions is here. and by master i mean the guy who was wrong with every single prediction thread i ever made so far.

Sony

- Horizon will sell 3m+ this year

- God of War will release this year

- Detroit will release this year

- PS4 Pro to get a 50$ price cut. then another 50$ off during black friday/holidays, its price will reach 300$ at some point.

- Knack 2 will flop

MS

- Scorpio will be 450$

- Halo 6 will be a Scorpio launch title

- Halo 6 will have split screen exclusive to Scorpio

- Sea of Thieves will blow critically and commercially. 73 or lower meta.

- Crack Down wont release this year.

- No trailer or anything shown for phantum dust. it might even be officially canceled.

Nintendo

1- Switch will release with Ok to decent sales in the west (first week), but sales will start to drop off quickly after. (in Japan i have no idea)

2- Most third party games will skip the Switch. RDR, Destiny 2, Battlefront, next farcry, For Honor, Cyberpunk 2022, CoD, Ghost recon and more.

3rd Party

- Red Dead Redemption releases this year. wins most GOTY awards and has highest meta of the year

- Farcry 5 gets announced and released this year

-Full Blow out of Cyberpunk 2077 happens this year.

- Dying Light 2 gets announced. nothing shown of Dead Island 2.

- For Honor scores 88+. is a big success both critically and commercially. sells 4+ million this year.

Microsoft

Halo 3 Annivsary is real and will launch on Xbox One, Windows 10, and be a showcase title for Scorpio and be the big the Xbox holiday game.

Scorpio will be an impressive machine but it will do at best okay sales wise do it having a $500 price tag.

While Sea Of Thieves won't be what Rare fans want. It will be wildly reguarded as their best game ever since becoming a Microsoft studio.

Scalebound will do okay sales wise and get some solid reviews but it won't be the next Bayonetta.

Crackdown 3 will either get cancelled or come out to okay reviews.

Cuphead will be the best 2D platformer of the year.

Sony

Spider-Man, God Of War, and Days Gone are all 2018 games.

By the end of the year we will start hearing some rumblings about the PS5 but nothing will surface until 2019.

Horizon will get pretty good reviews and sale very well.

Detriot will once again prove that David Cage is a terrible writter but will be his best game since thankfully he has some co-writers but his bad writing will still be noticable and the super best friends LP of it will be funny as fuck.

We will see the first gameplay of Death Stranding at PSX but no The Last Of Us Part 2 gameplay all year.

Bloodborne 2 will be annouced (or this is just wishful thinking)

Vita development begins to come to a close as Japanese Vita developers to move to the PS4 and Switch.

Nintendo

Most of the rumors we are hearing about will be true.

Switch will have a much better first year then either the Wii U and 3DS but it won't be as good the first year of the Wii.

Switch will also some major stock issues for the first few months.

the new 3D Mario and Breath Of The Wild will be serious GOTY contenders.

Mario and Rabbids RPG crossover will be one of the most surprising good games of the year.

Pokemon Stars (or at least a mainline Pokemon on the switch) will come out on 17th and it will cause the Switch win this holiday season.

Third Party support will be better then the Wii U thanks to better sales and Vita developers working Switch games but we will still miss quite a few major titles.

No first party 3DS games will release in Q4.

Third Party

RDR2 will get delayed into 2018.

Mass Effect Andromeda will be good but just not as good as everyone is expecting.

Persona 5 will be a major GOTY contender

Assassin's Creed Empires will be the best game in the series since AC2 but sales it will be underwhelming.

the first part of the FFVII remake will release in late 2017.

FFXIV Stormblood will be the best DLC/Expansion release all year.

Either Sony or Nintendo will Money hat Dragon Quest XI localization in exchange so that only their version gets released.

Ubisoft will get bought out.

Injustice 2 will dissapoint thanks to its upgrade system which will cause to be fill with microtansactions.

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite will be what Street Fighter V should of been at launch content wise.

Metal Gear Survive will be one the worst games of the year due to being an uninsipred zombie game that is a very buggy mess.

Nier Aotomata will be Platinum's fastest selling game and sale way better then exptectations and get great reviews but be forgotten about by the media when it comes to GOTY. Also some major gaming site will take away points just for the upskirt shots and will make gaming journalism an even bigger joke.

A  industry legend will sadly die.

Fun to read.

Halo 3 Annivsary is real and will launch on Xbox One, Windows 10, and be a showcase title for Scorpio and be the big the Xbox holiday game. 343 says this isn't happening

Scorpio will be an impressive machine but it will do at best okay sales wise do it having a $500 price tag. Impressive specs but price is still TBA but I still $500

While Sea Of Thieves won't be what Rare fans want. It will be wildly reguarded as their best game ever since becoming a Microsoft studio. Still not out

Scalebound will do okay sales wise and get some solid reviews but it won't be the next Bayonetta. Well this turn out to be way off the mark and only just took a few days.

Crackdown 3 will either get cancelled or come out to okay reviews. Still TBD

Cuphead will be the best 2D platformer of the year. Still TBD

Sony

Spider-Man, God Of War, and Days Gone are all 2018 games. Still TBD

By the end of the year we will start hearing some rumblings about the PS5 but nothing will surface until 2019. We did get some PS5 stuff thanks to a analyst but I doubt it will come out in 2018 like he said.

Horizon will get pretty good reviews and sale very well. Got great reviews and is selling great

Detriot will once again prove that David Cage is a terrible writter but will be his best game since thankfully he has some co-writers but his bad writing will still be noticable and the super best friends LP of it will be funny as fuck. Likely gonna happen but still TBD

We will see the first gameplay of Death Stranding at PSX but no The Last Of Us Part 2 gameplay all year. TBD

Bloodborne 2 will be annouced (or this is just wishful thinking) TBD

Vita development begins to come to a close as Japanese Vita developers to move to the PS4 and Switch. TBD but looking very likely

Nintendo

Most of the rumors we are hearing about will be true. At best half of them were right

Switch will have a much better first year then either the Wii U and 3DS but it won't be as good the first year of the Wii. Doing better then the Wii actually

Switch will also some major stock issues for the first few months. Who didn't see this coming?

the new 3D Mario and Breath Of The Wild will be serious GOTY contenders. So far right about Zelda but Mario is still TBD but very likely

Mario and Rabbids RPG crossover will be one of the most surprising good games of the year. I still have a good feeling about this.

Pokemon Stars (or at least a mainline Pokemon on the switch) will come out on 17th and it will cause the Switch win this holiday season. Still TBD

Third Party support will be better then the Wii U thanks to better sales and Vita developers working Switch games but we will still miss quite a few major titles. It missed just about every AAA third party game but indie and Japanese support is overall better then Wii U

No first party 3DS games will release in Q4. Still TBD

Third Party

RDR2 will get delayed into 2018. Who didn't see this coming?

Mass Effect Andromeda will be good but just not as good as everyone is expecting. Depending who you ask this game was a piece shit or good but disapointing. So I would say I was kinda right.

Persona 5 will be a major GOTY contender 93 on MC and 94 on Open Critc so looking very likely

Assassin's Creed Empires will be the best game in the series since AC2 but sales it will be underwhelming. Still TBD

the first part of the FFVII remake will release in late 2017. LMFAO

FFXIV Stormblood will be the best DLC/Expansion release all year. TBD

Either Sony or Nintendo will Money hat Dragon Quest XI localization in exchange so that only their version gets released. TBD

Ubisoft will get bought out. TBD

Injustice 2 will dissapoint thanks to its upgrade system which will cause to be fill with microtansactions. Was wrong all around it great reviews and no microtransactions.

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite will be what Street Fighter V should of been at launch content wise. So from what they said in interviews it is.

Metal Gear Survive will be one the worst games of the year due to being an uninsipred zombie game that is a very buggy mess. TBD

Nier Aotomata will be Platinum's fastest selling game and sale way better then exptectations and get great reviews but be forgotten about by the media when it comes to GOTY. Also some major gaming site will take away points just for the upskirt shots and will make gaming journalism an even bigger joke. Was right on sales and scores but being forgotten for GOTY is still TBD

A  industry legend will sadly die. RIP Masaya Nakamura the founder of Namco.

Gonna be fun looking back on this in 6 months.
