Yes! Bigband sounds amazing! I loved Sonys full blown orchastra at E3. If Nintendo manages something on that Level it will be awesome!

The bands have concerts after the event (14th and 15th), but not during the event (13th).

A bit. But the only dates in this are really easy to read even for people not speaking any Japanese:

1月14日（土）、15日

And all the western articles talking about it say the same thing:

They could play at the event too as a surprise, but nothing has been announced about it. To be more precise, what Nintendo call "event" is the whole 3 days of shows and demos at the Tokyo Big Sight. It's different from the reveal event people are talking about here (the conference), which is only on the 13th.

Yup, Switch event will last 3 days with shows and demos, while Switch reveal is few hours hours probably.
