Forums - Sony - PS4 Exclusives Release Date Speculation

I'm not expecting Spider-Man or Days Gone this year. I think God of War can make it since they say it currently can be played from start to finish. I think GT Sport will see one more delay.

I know I'm missing some but can't remember.

No offense bud but you seem to be making these assumptions based largely off the "greatness awaits" delay philosophy people have developed around Sony. But honestly most of these release dates don't make any sense, why would Spider Man relesae in early 2019 and not coincide with the Homecoming Movie? Insomniac is a huge studio and they always release their projects on time even when having multiple projects. Ni No Kuni 2 doesn't have the production values for such a huge delay like that. Death Stranding has been confirmed to be much farther in development than most people realize, and the manager of the project is known for keeping artistic minds like Kojima on task. Days Gone...eh...I can see a 2018 release for that. Personally I believe that The Last of Us 2 will be 2018 but I know a lot of people don't agree with that. I'd also question God of War being so late but I can at least understand that.

But hey that's just from my point of view, this is a speculation thread after all, all opinions welcome :)

They have said the Spider Man game doesn't tie into the movie and from what they have shown or lack of I'm speculating they are early on with it. Death Stranding I doubt is even in full development yet since not that long ago Kojima announced the engine and was talking about hiring. Last of Us Part II, they are jot going to finish in two years. Part of the spacing is also me guessing that Sony doesn't want to bunch them togeather like they did in 2011 or 2012. I just think they are showing off games early in development and it seems to be taking even longer to make games this generation. Now I'm not saying I'm going to be right and I'm not going after your opinion. This is just how I feel.

Most games don't directly tie into the movie, doesn't mean it won't come out near the movies release date. No one is saying their tied in, we're saying when a popular movie character like Spiderman has a game coming out, they want to maximize profit by releasing a video game while there's hype for the character.

I think most of their exclusives will be in 2017 and 2018 and 19 might be a bit dry :(

I agree 100% it would be smart to launch a game around the movie, each building hype off the other. But there has been times where they haven't come out at the same time (Mad Max, Transformers games). On a personal, selfish note I hope they spread them out. Otherwise I won't have time to play them.
