Forums - Gaming - PC The Place To Game

The best PC exclusives are games console-only gamers would never care about anyway, such as Civilization V or VI, Cities Skylines, Total War franchise, Anno franchise, Europa Universalis franchise etc.

No need to try to convince console-only gamers of PC games on this forum, they'll never care and will always downplay the system. This is VGC after all, one of the worst communities for PC games.

As a console and handheld only gamer I have to fully disagree with this. I absolutly want all of those games on console. Consoles support mouse and keyboard, and those games would be amazing on my 75" TV.

For me Xbox and PlayStation are much more appealing, and now with Switch Nintendo is looking very appealing as well. I just prefer the optimized experience over what feels like a mess on PC.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

It really is! Its also the cheapest option for them quality games throughout your LIFE!!!!

Gotta agree. If there's one thing that I love about PC gaming is it gives you choice: if I wanted to play with a 360 controller or ps3 controller, I could choose between the two and neither Microsoft nor Sony could tell me otherwise. If I wanted to install a mod on a game, no one is banning me for doing so. Plus, free online.

Same for me. There's just no exclusive from the genres that I play. Show me a game like Uncharted 4's MP on PC. Show me a game like The Last Guardian. Ratchet & Clank.

That works both ways you know?

RTS, TBS, MOBA, MMO, Simulation and more are pretty much non-existent on console.

Don't forget Star Citizen, Fortnite, League of Legends, StarCraft, WarCraft, DOTA, Unreal Tournament 4, Dreadnaught, Homeworld, Ashes of Singularity, Sins of a Solar Empire, Divinity 2, Descent... And I can keep going.

And you are entirely correct, VG Chartz is one of the most anti-PC communities I have ever seen, it can be extremely toxic.

RTS and MOBAs are genres that don't interest console gamers much though there are a few like the PixelJunk games, Anomaly, Smite or C&C.

TBS games are still available on consoles though they're not very popular - games like Valkyrie Chronicles, Legend of War, Nobunga's Ambition or X-Com. Disgaea is another one.

Not sure what you mean by simulation - racing or stuff like Farming Simulator?

MMOs - FFXIV, Neverwinter, Elder Scrolls, DC Universe Online, Planetside 2.

So, essentially, those genres are there - there's just not a lot of demand for them. If the game requires a Kb+m then it can't be fun to me.

Just want to point out something, Dreadnought is coming to PS4, and Divinity 2 is on Xbox 360. Also I want to add that Star Trek Online is also on consoles.

I don't think the free multiplayer is a good selling point anymore. PC games are notorious for having dead communities. Big MP games like WoW, League, and Overwatch, is where you'll find players at any hour of the day.

He's refering to divinity original sin 2. The first one is available on ps4 and X1 so it stands to reason the second one will be available for them as well.

OT: Yup, PC is definitely the place to game. It is much more expensive and harder to setup but once done it's incomparable.

It's not so amazing to play them on the couch though, I've done it with a projector and 92" screen. Sounds big, yet you pretty much have the same field of view as sitting behind a desk with a pc monitor. The advantage of a desk, besides a place for kb+m, is that you can always lean in to take a closer look, not so effective when you have to move a whole lot further to get a closer look at that 75" screen. I found myself going back to my desk as the big screen didn't add anything to those kind of games, it merely made it less convenient to play.

Ofcourse nothings stops you from playing a console behind a desk, but I guess the market for that is pretty small. Plus it wouldn't be an optimized for couch+tv experience anymore.

So it was a good selling point when MP was free on PSN last gen but now that it cost money, it doesnt matter? l0l

Free MP is always a good selling point especially when you have a group of friends or a guild who plays different games on different platforms. Cant expect everyone to pay to a paywall just to play together, not everyone is gonna do that for whatever reason.

the online community was lively then, and still is now. that's the point, what a joke right?

I wouldnt know considering I've only played online with people that mattered, not with a buncha of dudebro wannabe 12 year olds on CoD.

people that mattered? okeydokie.

I don't play multiplayer but I will advocate that a lively online community is better than a dead one with a handfull of people that shows up at a certain hour of the day.
