Forums - Sony - PS4: God Of War Playable From Start To Finish

I think people may be overstating what this means...It's very likely a super stripped down version of the game. During the GOWIII documentary I think they mentioned something about being able to finish the game more than a year before it launched.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

It'll be released right before E3 2017.

No it won't.

diverting dev time for trailers and live demos and stuff slows down the development of the game though - game is probably 1 year or a maybe little less out, let them show it again when it's ~3 months from release

Thinking about it, coming later 2017 would be better, if TLOU 2 is coming 2018.
Ascension came the same year as TLOU and was really lost on its shadow.
Sure, Ascension was a prequel and not as good as 3 was, and TLOU was a fucking massive hit new IP, but it would be better to give both of them more breathing room, instead of putting them close to each other.

Ascension came a few weeks after PS4's reveal and in the same month as the critically acclaimed Tomb Raider and Bioshock: Infinite. Also the single player gameplay was shown a month before release and before that they showed multiplayer gameplay in a series known for having incredible campaigns.

The Last of Us also got TV ads during Walking Dead while Ascension didn't get TV ads. Plus Ascension released along with two other hack and slash games and they all took some sales from each other.

Listen, I'm just saving you from yourself. Better to have me tell you know then have to find out at E3 2017.

Seriously though, being able to get from the beginning of a game to the end doesn't mean it's practially done. I still think this is a March 2018 game.

Hmmm interesting maybe late 2017 or to keep it tradition wise, march 2018.
I'm leaning to late 2017 so PS4 can compete with Scorpio and Switch on Black Friday 2017 Edition.

I'm really hoping for October/November 2017, that would be a nice push for PS4 for the holidays..
and more importantly then that.. a game i would love to play
