yeah,. this.  both can be bought for $250 this year.  next black friday you'll see it drop to $200.

When you put it like that, I don't know how to respond.

It would be very impressive to see Sony drop the price to $199.99. I would expect $249.99 with a $199.99 deal next hoilday, but if it is $199.99 MSRP, we may see $149.99 next holiday. At any rate, I do expect if they drop to $199.99, that it will stay there for a good while. Probably won't see another price cut beyond that until the super slim comes out based on 7nm tech.

It is going to be very interesting to see how low Sony and MS take these consoles. They will obviously do the slimmer versions with 7nm, but how small will they go? Could we see discless consoles, with built in storage? If so, would $99.99 eventually be possible? I think if Sony and MS eventually want PS and Xbox to own the home market, they have to cover the entire spectrum of big screen devices. So a $99.99 set top box competitor, all the way to a $999.99 premium device, that competes with PC, and high end A/V equipment, should eventually be the goal.

Here's an idea: What if Sony just stops making Smart TVs altogether? Just bundle the cheaper non-smart TVs with PS4s (w/c pretty much has the same features as a smart TV anyway and sell both at a very good price point.

Are there important features a smart TV has that a PS4 + non-smart TV wouldn't have?

I know that this is not in-topic, but reading thru the possibility if a 199USD PS4 just made me think about this.
