Forums - Gaming - Season of Heaven devs lie, show PC footage, don't even have Switch dev kit

Brilliant tactic, announce the "first 3rd party Switch title", get all the buzz for your new game

For more information about the doubts around the game, I'll quote a post from an other thread :

I hate to say it but I think this studio is being fairly disingenuous in how they're presenting this game.

It just feels like they're trying to take advantage of desperation from Nintendo fans to see a "real" Switch game in order to gain views/potential financing for their game.

How can you say you are building a game for a system that you have no specs for let alone a development kit?

That's basically what a French article was saying this weekend (French studio) : they have no office anymore, apparently no publisher, we're not sure about the Switch's dev kit, the studio director has a "strange" history and the whole communication around the game is handled by Gameblog, a pretty bad French website known for its clickbait articles and other shady practices. And the studio director is a former employee of Gameblog. The article accused the studio to take advantage of the Switch to get some visibility to launch a Kickstarter later or find a publisher. We'll see.

EDIT: The article  (in French) : http://www.factornews.com/actualites/seasons-of-heaven-va-t-il-l-emporter-au-paradis-42471.html

The previous studio of the current director was shutdown in early 2016, with 4 games in development which didn't find publishers, and "Seasons of Heaven" had already been showed to Nintendo, but ended up as an audio book...

So... Not sure about lies yet, but don't get overhyped though, wait and see.

Yeah, because the last thing the Switch needs are oportunistic studios leeching on the Switch's exposure. I hope they have the devkit. Otherwise I can't see a bright future for this indie.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Good a start as any.

Of course it's wrong. The first 3rd party game for Switch will be The Letter 2.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Riding on the Switch Hype!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Guess people have to find other ways to satisfy their "walk around, pick up things and put them into other things" needs...

Just like the Trailer they showed for the Switch with Skyrim ect running on the tv.
That was all from a PC, and it was bullshots.

Its just marketing but its deceptive.

I'm getting tired of these indie type games tbh, they have to be really good to catch my attention.

This looks like your generic run of the mill exploration game you find on early access on Steam. Generic music, generic character design, generic environments, generic companion(generic dog). I'd find it more interesting if they at least got rid of the generic designs of the boy and dog and replaced them with a striking, easily recognizable duo.

We need a new A Boy and his Blob. In HD. Whatever happened to that IP?
