Total shipments for Yakuza 6: The Song of Life in Japan and Asia have surpassed 500,000, Sega announced. The number includes both physical and digital sales.

Total worldwide sales for the series, which first launched with Yakuza on PS2 in December 2005, have surpassed nine million.

Yakuza 6 launched for PlayStation 4 in Japan and Asia (Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia) on December 8. A North American and European release is due out in early 2018.

Thats a healthy number right, for japan?

6th game, and their at over 9m units sold.... just goes to show you dont need every game to sell 10m, to be successfull enough to get sequels.

*edit: total sales are over 9.8m. (abit higher than I wrote)

That number sounds reasonable for this series.

As I've been saying, the loss in the Japanese physical market is offset by the gains in digital sales and the Asian market.

FFXV must've done also well.

Do we have a percentage of the sell through over shipment?
Great for Yakuza 6. It's really time for me to study Japanese. XD

First week at retail was 218k in Japan, but first week digital is unknown, and the 500k shipped figure included digital sales. The 500k shipped also includes other asian markets besides Japan.

Thanks.

I saw the Famitsu number and it seems that there's a limited numbers for physical release available. It looks like there's a lot of Digital download. Which is a good sign. I cannot see 200K plus for asian countries.
