If there are some horrible things that people dont like...These dicussions on threads are a decent way for people to vent and let the community know what they like and what they don't like. They can even go to game websites and check the forums they provide there. Once there is a way to get a consensus and people find they aren't alone in their frustrations you are more likely to come together on things you don't like about a game. Telling someone shush if you don't like it don't play the game...encourages the unpopulars aspects of games and consoles to continue throughout the series. People invest lots of their time and money into tv and game systems. They have a right as a customers to voice their opinion even on games and consoles that havent been release...why...because this is America and the customer is always right. The "stuff" we talk about in these forums is gold to game developers and console makers. The little posts about the why we think console sales are down. The posts on why these people buy this...why people don't buy that. How do I you know? BECAUSE THOSE PEOPLE ARE ON THESE FORUMS READING THESE THREADS! Do you think that every single poll on this website has been just made by sweaty guys sitting in dark little rooms. Sure a poll on this site might have a turnout of like 300 400 people...but....thats still better not having any data. |
From what I have seen first hand, developers don't listen to fans or critics. They are artists. We are a microcosm. But, to an artist with vision.. we are more like a nanocosm. I do Love your berserk avatar, I just have to say. It's a grand idea, but it's intangible. They are professionals who rely on forecasts by their own staticians and veterans and investors. We are important to ourselves. That is all anyone needs to feel good about posting.

Generation 8 has been a complete mess. One of if not the worst gen when it comes to social media. Gamers even go as far as dropping Meta User Scores and threaten developers lives. It goes far and beyond forums which turn out to be pretty poor almost on majority of articles.

Agreed. It's actually pretty disgusting. Any exclusive gets a 0/10 from dozens of people before it even comes out. Who has that much time and energy?

@OP: I love every consoles. But I stay away from most fanbase centric topics. There are simply too many facepalm-inducing comments in the forums, and I tend to get into trouble when I react to them. So I comment less and less, to the pleasure of many I'm sure. Most of the comments are predictable and lack insight, and trying to put sense into most of the ones typing them is an exercise in futility most of the time, otherwise it's simply not worth the countless posts and time waste required .
