Forums - Gaming - NES Classic forced bundles appear

So the last time I saw forced bundles was during Wii's multi-year shortage.

Gamestop currently has them in stock online with no option to buy the NES Classic all alone. Instead, you have to choose one of the preset bundles which toss in marginally ok items (cable extender) plus meh items (images, books) all for well over $100. Big margins are to be had.

Anyone want a bundle?

This is bad-ass.

Thats a shame, you can buy them stand alone at my local for 68 euros.

Still cheaper than trying to find one on eBay

True that.

These bundles kind of suck, though. I might do one with a system, controller, and maybe the book, but that's it.

They are all sold out...

Sooner or later, the hype will die off and they will be $60.00 again, readily available for all who want them along with the $10.00 controllers. That is when I'm going to make my purchase. Until then, they can GET OUT lol.

Forced bundles were around for the PS4 and Xbox One in a prolific fashion throughout the UK for weeks after release.

I'm talking bundles that were 2 x the cost of the console.

The guys at my local Gamestop told me that their Nintendo rep told them that they are already stopping production on the NES classic and it was just a placeholder for them to make money until the Switch came out. To which I replied, "Wow, Nintendo is stupid." Who knows if what they told me is legit but I don't know why they would lie about it either. They also told me they are working on an SNES classic now too....so who knows.

I thought that forced bundles were illegal (with some exceptions, that the bundle console + book wouldn't fulfill). They are in Spain, at least (although I'm pretty sure that is sometimes disregarded).

There is no way Nintendo is going to stop production on NES Classic right now.
