Why buy games on day one anymore? not just smashing bugs, but they’re adding story cutscenes too @_@
they really want me to start a New Game PLUS huh.. better add more trophies in it too

| Kowan said: They're improving content and not fixing anything. Fixing is meant for broken things and there's nothing broken here. They mentioned Ravus who is a side character, he doesn't have much presence in the game but the game does explain some of the happenings around him if you actually listen and explore(they talk about him and certain events about what happened when the city was attacked on radios for example. Not the best way to do things, I know). So they're probably going to make those into custscenes now. Ravus' ending does leave a lot to be desired though but again, he is a side character. The story focuses on Noctis and his gang and it delivers on that part, immensely, but at the cost of side characters like Ravus losing attention(part of their stories are often told by the news on radios, including a bit of Luna's). Then again, Tabata still deserves criticism for his approach to the story of FFXV. Kingsglaive and Brotherhood SHOULD HAVE BEEN in the game. I commend his dedication to improving FFXV but his ideas and approach are just often questionable. It's apparent he thought FFXV will be perfect - he said FFXV will be the highest rated FF game of all time which means he thought all the problems in his version of FFXV's story are actually great things. Anyway, I hope if Tabata ever returns to an FF game, he just focuses on the gameplay aspect as he excels on that department. FFXV is amazing in gameplay and content but is a bit lacking in story, even more so if you haven't watched Kingsglaive or brotherhood. |
I think disappointment can sometimes come across as anger or entitled attitutde on the internet as people don't take the time to flesh out their reasoning in text form as it would take a while and also people correcting the record don't give the benefit of the doubt.
Take Mass Effect 3 as an example, it's final "chapter" or ending seemed to take very little - to nothing - into account of all the choices the player had made in the previous games. People were upset and disappointed.
With FFXV the final portion of the game seems to have disappointed a lot of people who wanted to not be disappointed, it's emotional for them because they wanted to love the end parts. If you add that to the performance issues across the board on Xbox One and even the PS4 Pro 4K mode is has serious frame pacing issues, it's disappointing.
I have the special edition here waiting to be played (had a quick go at the tutorial section) but I'm waiting for the PS4 Pro frame pacing fix and to a lesser degree the 60 fps patch, admittedly the 60fps patch is simply a bonus for me at least.
Now if you take that into account, when we then hear - before even the technical issues are fixed - that Square Enix are talking about grandious plans going forward to add content that doesn't specifically revolve around gameplay, disappointment turns to something more hostile. Gamers are jaded these days by DLC gouging, shoddy day 1 releases that need a patch to be playable and, well I think we're all familiar with the frustraiton. Square Enix has a history of this, the remaster of FFX comes to mind specifically where the random battles were not random, this is an afront to the whole game and it took a long time to be patched.
I'm more than happy for additional content and possible a DC version down the line like they did with FFX/X-2 for example but those games didn't have game breaking bugs to start with when released on the PS2.
What do you think about this? Be good to hear thoughts from another who doesn't neccasarily agree or values things differently,
Thanks

i know that a lot of people get them..because they dont want any massive spoilers to ruin the ending....like ff7 and ffx...
This game's gonna take up to 200GB in space from my PS4 right?
I'm now filled with determination.
