Nintendo is either ran be a certifiable genius, or a deranged lunatic. While we were sleeping all week long it seems Nintendo went on a spending bender. More specifically they seem to have gone dumpster diving looking for cheap intellectual properties to fill their newly announce Wii Pre lineup of games the first title of which is to debut this fall entitled appropriately enough Eureeka's Castle. A property they purchased from Noggin network on Wednesday for a cool $220,000.
Nintendo has stated its intent to develop these old programs into a line of games directed at young children aged from four to nine years of age. Among the other series recently purchased dirt cheap are. The Smurfs, The Snorks, Muppet Babies, PeeWees Playhouse, and Bill Nye the Science Guy.
I suppose this was to be expected the Wii mote is so simple a caveman I mean a toddler can use it, but what is most depressing is that they are developing these properties first party. Staff that would be better put to use bringing the world the next installment in the StarFox series is instead going to be working on helping baby Kermit the Frog find his way around the nursery.
