Forums - Gaming - My experience with Skyrim - PC gaming at its worst

Seriously if you're not playing a heavily modded version of Skyrim it's not really worth it. I've recently installed SRLE: Legacy of the Dragonborn. It took about 15-20 hours (and I have a lot of experience with modding games) but after all is said and done it is an amazing experience that really can't be compared to the original game. I'm serious, it's ridiculously better. Here's a link to the guide - http://wiki.step-project.com/User:Darth_mathias/SRLE_Extended_Legacy_of_The_Dragonborn

I will chek it out after I have 100 hours on original and all DLC.

You not playing XV then?  ;P

Not yet.

I'll get FFXV on PS4 sometime next month maybe once I am free from Pokemon Sun - maybe all the patches will be out by that time :p

Regardless of that fact, I'm gonna double dip when FFXV comes out on PC in the future. It pretty much is guaranteed that it is coming out if not for the rumors of a PC version or the discussion from the devs themselves but because of this

Anyways, I just cant see myself quitting PC gaming just like I cant see myself quitting Nintendo or Playstation. I love working with computers and that is what got me into PC gaming more so ya :)

You are missing FFX and the online ones are also on PC.

All that is left is FFXII and XV.

No discussing FF in Skyrim topic please or I will be forced to ban you.

They get a 'free' pass because their games are pretty good and they generally work well enough. For example, I haven't run into any game-breaking bugs in Bethesda's games myself (at least yet). Sure, they're buggy, but for most people, they're still enjoyable despite the bugs. But for some games, bugs can really kill the fun.

Skyrim got a 92 meta on PS3. The game didn't had severe lag that made it unplayable after some hours. They took a year to fix it. So yes, it's pretty much a free pass while other devs get slaughtered by way, way less.

A sitation which a lot of reviewers did not experience as it can take dozens of hours into the game or not happen at all.  Only if a reviewer ran into that problem personally should it influence their score.

This is why I moved to consoles, i got fed up having to reconfigure my PC to fix yet another issue with another game

Don't make me put a arrow to your knee!

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Although, in seriousness, with reference to the mod recommendations some made, there's some great new lands mods.  If you want stuff that doesn't interfere with the lore, Falskaar is a great one and I suggest keeping an eye on Beyond Skyrim.  Bruma should release soon, emphasis on should, and has astounding quality in many areas so far.  There's more, just do some digging.  As for performance and looks, there's a ton of great options you'll need to judge for yourself.  Just don't underestimate the modding scene, it's come a long way since the early days and there's a lot of amazing accomplishments there.
