Hello VG Chartz.

Liam Robertson is reporting that the Skylanders franchise is coming to an end. Apparently sales of last years game Superchargers were not good. This years installment, Imaginators is also not selling well. Inside information suggests that Activision has already stoped production of the 2017 game.

The Toys to Life category has already seen Disney Infinity disappear and Lego Dimensions was only set to have three installments making next year the last.

 

Amiibo may be the only Toys to Life left in a couple of years. What are your thoughts about this.

I don't really view Amiibo as being a "Toys to Life" product.. the closest it gets is making an AI in Smash Bros WiiU. It's not the same as Infinity, Skylanders or Lego Dimensions.

I think its time for Nintendo to wrap things up with the Amiibo as well. They are cool, but they don't really add anything to games.

Loved the idea. Hate that it's coming to an end, but pretty much everyone saw it miles ahead.

amiibo are the most underutilized Toys to Life figures of them all. Like most people who collect these things, I get them to display and don't really use them.

They've only been around just over 2 years. I think we are just at the tip of the iceberg from what it can really do. Imagine more third party characters getting amiibos (Minecraft, Rabbids)

I wont have any idea since I dont know about the Mario x rabbids game, or any future rabbids game to the Switch.
