A new PlayStation mobile app launches today, Sony has announced, this one focused on the PS4's Communities feature.
Appropriately titled PlayStation Communities, the app allows you to "stay in touch with your fellow PS4 gamers while away from the console," according to a PlayStation Blog post. Communities serve as almost like system-level clans, letting you join up to play games together or talk about shared interests."

Why does PlayStation need 3 mobile apps?  

It's bad enough now getting a message notification on the PlayStation app only to have to download and open a different messaging app just to read it!

Messaging used to be a part of the same app... Why did it change!?

Sony needs to streamline all this into one decent mobile app.

Facebook did the same thing with messenger app to get messages. There must be some communication law that is easier to comply with this way. Anyway good to know thanks for the heads up!

Seems like the rule, everyone is doing different apps for different things, Facebook and Youtube comes to mind also Google.

Hopefully Microsoft doesn't do that with the Xbox app. Its literally nearly perfect.

Why the apps cant all be in one is beyond me...
