Forums - General - Recommend me an amazing movie.

My friends and I watch a ton of movies.  I wouldn't exactly call most of them "movie buffs" as some of them can't quite keep actors straight, but nevertheless they have pretty good taste in movies.

I'm pretty sure the well is running dry, and I'm running out of good movies to watch.  We watch really crappy movies for laughs sometimes, but there's only so much of that I can take, and now we've basically started watching B movies for the hell of it, and I'm pretty sure I'm dying inside.

Got any suggestions for a really good movie?  A movie that makes you think, or something with some style...or perhaps a really well thought out action movie, or a genuinely scary horror film.  We like most genres, but I figured this could be a good thread to talk about your favorite movies, or one you'd like to suggest we should watch.

I've probably seen the movie you're about to suggest, but go ahead anyway, a re-watch might be worth it, depending on the movie.

Anything by the Coen brothers (even their lesser known movies are good)

German movies that are good (and made it over the pond): Run Lola Run, der Untergang (the downfall), das Boot...anything by Werner Herzog.

Classics: Marx Brothers, Chaplin...

Western Classics... anything by Siergo Leone

Real Horror: ... like the Shining

Oh and the documertary "The King of Kong" its about the best Donkey Kong Arcade player ever... there is one sceen where he is playing and has a real high score but then his little son comes in crying and screams "DADDY... WIPE MY BUTT !!!!" I was laughing so hard I was crying... every true gamer should watch that movie... if only for that one sceen...

Smokin Aces - crazy shooting lots of action
Shoot Em Up - funny lots of shooting
Shrooms - thriller movie about eating shooms interesting plot
Hatchet - great horror movie bloody as hell
The Host - korean movie mutated fish thing like godzilla funny and fun to watch
Crank - action movie base on a game stay hyper or die !
The Protector - Thai movie lots of fighting and action
Ong Bak - same as above different story same actor :)
The Boondock Saints - two brothers take fighting crime into their own hands....action
Kung Fu Hustle - funny chinese movie
Dead Silence - same creator as saw.. horror
