Samsung. The UI is horribly bad but input lag and picture quality are close to perfection.

Philips - both the HDTV for current Consoles and the CRT TV for my Retro consoles
Samsung for me, I think for mid range good value for what they offer in regards to large televisions.

I have a small 24" 1080p Vizio. I mostly (almost exclusively) play PS2 nowadays, and the games look great with Component Cables. The ones that support wide screen and/or progressive scan look great.
I've tried Wii with Component Cables and it looks awesome too.
PSTV looks great at 720p and 1080i, although I've only played two games on it, and one was Xenogears at 720p (the highest resolution that the PSTV can display PS1 games in).
360 and Wii U both look very pretty and sharp, although the small screen kinda clutters the games that are fast paced. FAST Racing NEO looks beautiful, but somehow I thought that it was screaming for a bigger screen.
I've been buying Vizio for the past decade or so. I've been happy with them. My best was a 3D Vizio 1080p LED that claimed 240 htz on the box. Now, that TV is in my bedroom.
I was looking for a 4k HDR Ultra HDTV and, in my price range, the Vizio TV only had one HDMI that could do what i needed it to do. The other three or four were less capable. Can't remember what their shortcomings were. Either less than 60 htz, no HDR, or not 4K enabled.
I grabbed a Sony Bravia X800D from Amazon and I love it. Best TV I've ever owned and it works beautifully with my consoles.

Yes :) The LG is on my list, this baby looks really good. Will most likely buy it end of December; so I still have a bit of time to keep looking. |
Definitely do.
Australia has far higher list prices for TV's, but we can normally get a decent discount on that. Not sure for Canada!
