EA has a history of trying to sabotage Nintendo, especially with sports games. It'd be nice to see the favour returned.

Not enough people bought their games on Nintendo systems, so it wasnt worth it for EA to support them. They want to sell their games on as many systems as possible. They arent sabotaging anyone.

How did they sabotage Nintendo? Are you saying it's their fault that the Wii U failed?

EA back in the 90s tried to hurt Nintendo using inferior ports of sports games. I'm looking for an interview from a few years back but can't find it atm.

its more like failtendo tries to sabotage third party. With such weak tech.

they want their wii phenomen again. extremely cheap to produce and sell for high price.

The only company who got this to work on routine is Apple.

You aren't going to get any love calling Nintendo that.  It would make sense to pick a better diss name considering Nintendo has won every single hand held generation and it has won 3 out of 6 home console races it has been in.  Don't worry I won't report you because your diss is too lame to even warrant a report.

How did those slip through Nintendo's seal of quality?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Might be right but the main example I can think of is Joe Montana Football on the Genesis.

"Prior to the release of Montana, Park Place had developed the game so well that it surpassed Madden, and they believed it would hurt the sales of Madden. According to Michael Knox, they took Montana and "scaled it back" just before releasing the game back to Sega"

"Sega approached Electronic Arts, developer of the Madden NFL series, and president Trip Hawkins agreed to help. Joe Montana Football missed the Christmas deadline and was released in January 1991, shortly after the Genesis version of John Madden Football."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Montana_Football

So not only did they miss their deadline... They missed the deadline due to scaling the game back.  lol

Also, EA tried to axe the Dreamcast by withdrawing their support because they were upset with the 2K sports games taking away their sales.  I believe even a few EA execs even try to credit themselves with the killing of the Dreamcast which is far from the truth.

The console makes peanuts. Nintendo wants software sales. $25/$250 profit on a console v $50/$60 on a first party game. Which would you take?

The DS had touchscreen and wireless, if that's such weak tech why was MS still using ethernet on 360? They later released a wifi adaptor for what $100?

3DS had 3D, y'know, that thing that Sony was trying to push?

It's not weak tech, it's non-power tech.

Nintendo made more profit than Apple every year from 1980 to 2001. It wasn't until 2005 that Apple's total profit overtook Nintendo's. That's 21 years for Nintendo and 15 for Apple.

EA has stated many times PS4 and Xbox One are no longer their main platform. They are making their games for high-end PC's and use their own platform, origin, as main platform.

Dynamic resolution and disabling effects is all they do on consoles untill the performance is acceptable (which is easy with dynamic resolution) so....

No they won't be happy with the switch, either it will run their dice engine crappy and they will try it or nintendo is a likely victim to getting many of the android- ios versions of games or no games at all from EA.

I can't imagine EA is all that broken up over having one less console to not support...

Have a nice day...

I don't think it's very nice to wish someone less sales or to even encourage people to hurt someone.

Sabotage how? In what way?
