Is that good? May be doing my university second year out there.

I think it is. If you don't consider the christmas deals that is happening right now (You could get an XONE with 2 games at the same price right now).

But what sucks here is that Nintendo games takes a very long time for their price to get lowered, comparing to PS4 and XONE and PC games. And even if they get lowered...... its not by much. Hopefully they change that too.

Same here, only ever see deals on X1/PS4

Not ideal, but should make for an OK launch.

not ideal? for the specs for a handheld/dock scenario its a pretty great introduction price if true. I was fairly confident this would be a 299$ release, 250$ is cheap.

Bear in mind the Wii U is still almost at 300$ itself and that premium 3DS bundle's on their own almost go for 200$

Well, if the actual price is far more than that, the store gonna lose lots of money.
So, they are betting high on that, if they dont know the actual price.
So, it gives lots of credibility on 250$.

250$ 32gb, half xbox one in power at 720 screen, dock and joy cons. Seems pretty solid.
Hope the 300$ version had 128 Gb.

I really thought it would wind up being $300 at the lowest... With a decent launch lineup, bundle, and advertising (especially the unique hybrid aspect), I really think this could do very well at $250.

I really don't get how they're selling it at $250... Are they selling it at a loss after all those years of refusing to do that?

Well,  the Nvidia Shield Android TV basic model launched at $199.00  (with a controller included) and this is coming out almost two years later.  So it looks to me like Nvidia found a way to make powerful enough chips at affordable price.

It is also worth noting that the Shield TV is already around half the power of the X1.

It's a placeholder price, they don't know the real price yet.

If it's 300 or 350, they will loose a LOT of money. Or they cancel everything.

I think  bad sales for a Nintendo handheld console  ( at least for the first years ) or lower than expected/desirable  is more right , 5m in 5 months isn't bad sales in general, if you want my opinion.

Could be wrong, but pretty sure that 5m figure was thanks to a great start. After a while, they were actually bad. That's what I member chewbacca again, anyway.

You are correct, here are the shipment numbers for the first calender year.

Q1-3.61 million (launch)

Q2-0.71 million (post-launch)

Q3-2.36 million (price cut)

Q4-8.35 million (first holiday)

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

If people consider its features and dual nature and won't consider it just a portable that can also be docked, they'll find theat price not just acceptable, but also very fair. But the doubt we won't be able to solve until launch hype and sales have settled is: will they?

Wonder how accurate these will end up being.

Gameseek has a price guarantee so as far as they're concerned it's not a place holder as that's the most anyone who pre-orders now is going to pay, a retailor either has to be ultra confident to do that or already have the RRP.

That would be a GREAT price.
A shame that in my country it will most probably be overpriced regardless of the official price everywhere else :(
