Well PS2 emulation by the PS3 isn't as great as the original 60gb version which actually had both cpu and gpu of the ps2 on the board, so it wasn't emulation but more running the games using their native hardware (for the most part)
Generation
As said in the above post though, all of the models which have 4 front usb ports have some PS2 compatibility, if there is just 2 then you're out of luck, it isn't that the console is super rare but it's more super good! Because it allows you play every Playstation game up until the PS4 launched, 100% compatible with Playstation 1 2 and 3 software (with some small exceptions like the G-Con45 just won't work since the video portion of the gun wont attach to a hdmi cable) But yeah the second generation version is what I got myself last year and it works great at PS2 emulation, Tekken Tag was one of the few games which didn't run correctly (about half framerate) and Balders Gate : Dark Alliance had some emulation issues in terms of broken textures, but was still playable on the system.
Lol table broken to the point of I'm just going to capture an image of how it should look from the preview before posting.

Besides the God of War games I haven't played in forever and GTA, not sure what other PS2 games I would play
