Did NES minis sell out already? How many of them did they even make....?

Ninten really needs to meet the demands of some of their products, though I suppose it would be hard to read the demand for something the NES Mini and amiibo.

These scalpers better hope that the demand for these lasts. A lot of them screwed themselves over big time with the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Skull Kid editions for the 3DS. They overestimated demand and bought them all up. Things were going good for a few weeks and then people stopped buying them. People wanted them, but not that badly. I remember waiting several months to get mine because I noticed the price dropping. By the time I got it, I might have paid maybe $10 more than the actual retail price. I know a lot of scalpers lost out big time on that. Some of them had resorted to to removing the Skull Kid figure from the box and had sold the game and the figure separately thinking they were going to get their money that way. The value seems to have gone back up, though there are far fewer of them being listed.

I knew someone who bought 5 PS4s and 6 X1s at launch with the intent to scalp...I laughed so hard when the PS360 scalping situation did not repeat itself. XD

As for the NES mini, people will do what they want to do. I would just wait for the next shipment but whatever.

but the ps4 was being scalped for months after release.  I was working in a game store at the time and you had to put your ps4 order in and wouldn't receive it until 6-8 weeks later.

Or Nintendo is just being annoying by limiting stock just to increase demand :/

Amiibos all over again

I honestly cannot remember. I know it was not as bad as the PS360, but it is possible that the PS4 was being scalped. I think it was the X1 that remained in stock everywhere and he ended up having to sell them at retail price to try to get his money back for them. In any case, he was disappointed with what he ended up with.

This is nothing though. Show us the ones sold for 200-600 dollars.

I guess watch this auction for the next 36 minutes as of my post.

But yeah... I really doubt there is going to be masses of people buying these "stocking fillers" for near this price, just some of the extreme collectors or those scalpers trying to sell them on for more... but obviously that is a market just created by itself and fighting with itself over the illusion of value on the item.

edit

this one ends in 3 mins

Seriously though the amount of new accounts bidding on this thing makes me think that it 100% is being boosted up by the scalpers with alt accounts on ebay hoping to make money on these.

While it had 30 or so bids there was only 7 actual bidders, many with 0 or low rep.

EBay is a bit misleading when it comes to demand for these things. As the post above explains, these are usually fake bids.

Also, don't consider anything listed as "buy it now" as indicative of demand or average selling price. That's just how much they wanna sell it for, and while I'm sure people might be desperate enough to buy at that price, it's a small minority who would.

Man, I just don't get it. There's a store in the mall here that sells little boxes that lets you play hundreds of NES games for like $30 and no one gives a shit. Nintendo releases a mini NES with a laughably short cord for the controller and a tiny game library and people go ape shit.

You can pirate this and much more for $0 rather than paying for piracy from stores in malls, but people choose to buy the games from Nintendo since that isn't piracy I don't understand how this is hard to understand, the same way that Kodi offers movies for free but they still make $1billion at the box office.

Who would buy those and why? Why not place an order for a second shipment?

Doing so is near impossible. Sat on EB Games site for an hour and a half today trying to order one. Site crashed over and over until it somehow sold out. I clicked place order over 50 times (no I'm not exaggerating) and still didn't get 1 -_-
