Forums - Sales - Is the PS4 Pro supply constrained in Japan?

Serious question. it's been sold out on amazon Japan for almost a month.  What's it like at brick and mortar stores? plenty of stock? it will launch to fairly low sales in Japan.  I'm trying to figure if that's accurate of demand or not.

Any insights are appreciated.

its sold out, their Amazon sells it only from scalpers who charge above 44k Yen. Its not clear if there is low supply or if it has high demand probably in the midle

I wouldn't be surprised if Sony allocated more systems towards the West, where they have actual competition in the console space at the moment.

Yeah that's what I thought.  I was thinking there was no way they were selling it at retail that high.

@Ariakon it looks like Sony shipped very little to Japan.  Probably wanted to satisfy the really high demand in the EU and USA. Can't blame them really.

Now I'd agree there is demand in Japan but I would have liked to see them meet it for the japanese launch so we could know.  Sadly it will be sold out and we'll never know how big the launch might have been.

Yes they probably send more in the West.
