*edited* Basically, if you had a regular ps4 and didn't have a Pro or a VR, which would you want?

I feel like they may have released to close together. Yes, the Pro works hand in hand with the PSVR but maybe, just maybe, one is eclipsing the other. A lot of people can't spend $800 on both devices so it's one of the other--or neither.

Thoughts?

I'd take the pro. The VR games so far are nothing but little more than tech demos and VR in general seems to not have a clear direction. At least with PS4 Pro, I am not really gambling.

Wellll, since I'm buying a Pro, I'll take some free PSVR. The "if I could get one free" thing threw me until saw the rest of the post. It was a short trip, but I get you now. The Pro is a much better deal in Canada than the PSVR, which comes into play. Pro first. Then VR. :)

I bought both, but I would take a free Pro in this scenario. Pro only offers image quality and higher frame rates, which don't change the experience, only makes it nicer. PSVR on the other hand offers away to play that far exceeds anything that could ever be produced on a TV and a traditional controller. I would rather pay and support innovation and new experience over more of the same.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

PSVR by a mile. New experience >>> slightly improved existing experience.

PSVR has revived my interest in gaming. Including today I already have 22 titles in my VR sub folder. I haven't had this much fun or urge to play since getting my 1080p projector set up back in 2007. And now I haven't used the projector since I got psvr. (Actually I used it briefly to check out the new DC tracks in their full glory)

I'm glad VR games are still short ish, gives me time to try out more! They're luckily a lot cheaper too with free updates for some existing titles.

PSVR actually persuaded me to get the pro on day 1. The upgrades in VR will be much bigger than at 1080p. Without PSVR I would have held off on getting a pro. Not that PSVR doesn't look great already on the normal ps4. Yet since I'm still in the honeymoon phase with VR, it makes buying the pro a lot easier. Maybe that was Sony's strategy all along ;)

PS4 Pro

since i already have PSVR

but i'm getting PS4 Pro mainly for better PSVR gameplay anyway so, can be either one after all

Great question. And a hard one to answer. Personally the Pro. I can only buy one this holiday and it has to be the Pro.

I think I'll get the psvr next holiday when it should be cheaper. And I'll know for sure if it took off by then or it it was a one year fad.

You and i are so alike right now, is scary. I didn't want a Pro or a new TV until I got the VR.

Pro, because i dont own a PS4.

Doesn't really matter. Getting the other one would still cost me 400€
