"With about a month to go before it hits Japan, Nintendo finally shared actual details about Miitopia today. Footage and information was shown during a special Miitopia Direct.
The core of Miitopia is that it’s a turn-based RPG. Players can embark on an adventure with friends. You can choose their jobs, which includes mage, thief, priest. Job classes include cook, cat, devil, tank, and idol.
In Miitopia, the Demon Lord has stolen people’s faces, and it’s your mission to retrieve them. You can do so by defeating monsters in battle.
Relationships between your characters changes the way they battle. Fights can break out between your party members, and romantic relationships can occur. Interactions that happen battles affect relationships between Miis. This includes one character taking a hit for another. The behavior of your friends might not reflect their real life personalities.
Players can also directly choose the personality each of the Miis has. They can be “Energetic”, “Stubborn”, “Kind”, and “Carefree”.
You can also rest at the inn. When doing so, Miis can visit other Miis rooms and interact with each other. As an example, the heroine’s love interest gives her a present, but it’s a centipede picture book. She says “she wanted one ages ago”.
Miitopia launches in Japan on December 8."
